Electric actuators of valves in safety-relevant
operational areas of nuclear power plants must be maintained and – if necessary – adjusted at regular intervals. In addition, the settings of the torque limit switches and further electrical and mechanical parameters must be documented.

 

For these activities, AREVA has developed an integrated concept, consisting of

  • a control cabinet for activating the drives to be tested

  • controllable brakes for load simulation of the drives (“MDP brakes” and “MDP control unit”)

  • the data acquisition unit (“SIPLUG for actuator test bench”)

  • the “ADAM” software that has been specially tailored for this task.

There is the additional option of integrating an adjustable variable transformer, which allows measurements at under or over-voltage (e.g. from 300V to 440V in order to implement tests at 0.8 Vnom and 1.1 Vnom).

The drive control unit can be flexibly adjusted to
customer-specific switch-off variants and control
signal assignments via the integrated S7 control
system.

  • Active power in no-load operation and at torque switch trip

  • Rotation speed in no-load operation and at torque switch trip Schaltersignale

  • Switch signals (torque switch S1/S2, position limit switch S3/S4, by-pass switch)

  • Deflection of displacement worm or rotation angle

  • Output signals of an electronic position indicator (ESR)

  • Optional: stator resistances of motor
