FLÜS - Leakage Monitoring

            of leakages

Local component monitoring

FLÜS was particularly developed for a high-sensitivity leakage monitoring on pressurized insulated pipes and vessels in nuclear power plants, where it is generally very difficult to detect and locate leakage under the insulation. The continuous measurement of the local humidity at the monitored components enables you to detect external leakage of flange connections, valves, isolating valves etc. after one hour at the latest and to evaluate the leak rate development – even throughout the entire power range from 0 to 100 %.

Room humidity measurement

In addition, FLÜS can also be implemented for quantitative multi-channel room humidity measurements at discrete positions of the equipment compartments. When compared to conventional discrete humidity measuring devices, FLÜS offers the advantage of a durable and maintenance-free solution with its robust on-site components.

Important contricution to Break Preclusion Concept (BPC)

Thus, the FLÜS system plays an important role in the concept for preclusion
of pipe breaks ("Break Preclusion Concept" - BPC), where an early,
high-sensitivity detection of crack-related leakage is required for safety
reasons.

Expansion by additional diverse methods

In combination with the measurement of room temperatures and condensate flow from the room air coolers, FLÜS offers two further diverse leakage monitoring methods for large compartment areas.
Finally, FLÜS will provide in future a fourth diverse method by measuring the airborne radioactivity in the equipment compartments.
