FLÜS - Technical Description 2
Diversity 2:
Temperature measurement
Leakage in the equipment compartment always leads – if a certain leakage rate is reached – to an increase in the room temperature due to the escaping hot steam. Therefore, there is an additional temperature sensor at each room humidity measuring point of FLÜS, the measured values of which are usually directly recorded and monitored for threshold violations in the I&C system.
Diversity 3:
Condensate measurement
Besides the temperature increase, a leakage also causes a significant increase in humidity, which leads – if a certain leakage rate is reached – to a continuous accumulation of condensate from the room air cooler of the respective equipment compartment. Therefore the measured values of these condensate flow sensors are usually directly recorded and monitored for threshold violations in the I&C system.
Diversity 4:
Activity measurement
For future expansion of the system, the application of a suitable activity detector at the outlet of the FLÜS system is in preparation, which is to determine the integral activity of all isotopes that have diffused from the equipment compartments through the sinter metal tablets there. Although a distinction between the individual monitoring areas is not possible, one measured activity value per section and cycle will be available with this method.
