Valve Diagnostic Module with High Sampling Rates

SIPLUG® 4 is the next generation of the successful AREVA valve diagnostic module SIPLUG®-Online-3.
It combines the high reliability and the industrial suited data acquisition of the SIPLUG® 3 range with higher sampling rates and a modern Ethernet-interface ensuring a fast data transmission. SIPLUG® 4 is qualified to be applied in switchgears of nuclear power plants.

Unlike some simplified concepts the SIPLUG® diagnostic module includes a complete galvanic isolation of the input currents and input voltages. This concept complies with the highest demands to personal and plant safety as well as non-reactivity.

Similarly, SIPLUG® 4 contains – in contrast to basic 2-phase measurement solutions (ARON-circuit) – a 3/4 conductor measurement, which achieves high accuracies for the calculation of active power and also records phase unbalances

Product description and technical data

By offering a maximum sampling rate of 320.000 values per second (40kS/s per channel), SIPLUG® 4 enables ambitious and sophisticated data analysis. Furthermore the SIPLUG® 4 remains completely compatible to already existing products of the ADAM® diagnostics- and evaluation software.

The Ethernet interface (10/100 MBit/s) allows higher data rates for the transfer of measurements, either while downloading data from the internal SIPLUG® storage or in case of a real "online" data transmission during measuring. In contrast to the previous SIPLUG® 3 CAN-BUS, the Ethernet interface uses industrial standard components for the networking.

SIPLUG® 4 is the core component of several products of the valve diagnostics of AREVA and it is used in different applications:

  • integrated into a switchgear feeder
    (e.g. Siemens 8PU plug-in unit)
  • as an independent acquisition module, for example for the cable outlet area in a switch gear cabinet
  • as a two-piece solution (sensor-module
    & acquisition-module) for applications with limited spacen with built-in SIPLUG® 4)
