- Diagnosis of Valves and Drives

Moving towards Condition Based Maintenance of Valves and Actuators

SIPLUG® technology permits diagnostics solutions that are tailored to customer requirements. It has been designed for data acqusition inside or outside the plug-in units of the switchgear of Nuclear Power Stations. With SIPLUG® diagnosis modules the plant operator will be able to perform the assessment of electrical and mechanical characteristics of motor operated valves and their electrical actuators through active power measurement.

The measured data can be transmitted via the power plant local area network to the ADAM® data server if the SIPLUG® online hardware is installed. With this solution all measurement information will be available immediately in the
offices of plant engineers.

With the mobile solution, the data can be transmitted via serial or USB interface to a
PC or notebook.

Tasks

  • Valve monitoring on-site, in the MCC
(Motor Control Center) and on test
    benches in the workshop
  • Active power measurements following
KTA 3504 and diagnoses with respect
to the US NRC Generic Letter 89-10 /
    96-05
  • On-line and remote diagnoses to
identify the state of the component

Your benefits

  • Measurements during power operation to optimize and reduce outage time by condition based maintenance
  • Substantially reduced time per measurement and evaluation, typically from 1-4 hours to 5 minutes
  • More than 25 years of experience
  • Optimized measurement programs allow
to leave the critical path during outages
  • Continuous monitoring of critical valves to avoid unnecessary in-service inspections (ISI)
